July 8th - Divide and Conquer

Habitat says out our hard hats in the morning. The front of each has our name, and the backs have a picture that describes us. A doodle, really.

Jumping back a few hours, here's the ranch at dawn. Before we left, naturally.

I forget where between Conifer and Fountain I snapped this, but it's cool.

These are the deer that we saw. For some reason, they didn't really spook at the car.

Back in Fountain, we all had breakfast together. Some affiliates, like this one, provide breakfast; other times we eat out of the coolers.

Our main task for the day, on the B&B house, was to raise the roof trusses. One group hands the truss up while another catches it, moves it into position, and anchors it down.

The trusses went up surprisingly quickly. By afternoon they were all installed, ergo this neat geometric shot.

Here they are from outside. Those horizontal boards provide some bracing.

Meanwhile, a smaller group wrapped another house in the development with blue house wrap. This is Styrofoam brand, but it's the same stuff as Tyvek.

A third group built a fence between two of the houses. The one in the background is almost complete and awaits an owner; the B&B house abuts it on the near side.
