Texas has the coolest state sign so far. Here I am modeling our route.
The church at dawn, with cool lighting as always.
If you've ever wondered what 30 hungry cyclists look like, here you go.
Here's a wider shot of the church. I really liked how stark the buildings silhouette was.
I uploaded almost the same photo yesterday: a water tower with dawn clouds behind.
This ramshackle place had llamas and other oddball animals. It takes a certain type to live in the middle of nowhere.
That thing in the distance is a small oil well. A small pump, huge storage tanks, and a little radio equipment. These are everywhere today.
Welcome to Texas! (Drive friendly!)
There are also a bunch of cattle grates...
Be careful riding over them...
Or you'll end up like Helen. She was okay, though. Just an elbow scrape.
Cattle grates contain cattle. Some of whom may be on the road. Like this.
An armada of tractor trailers carrying oversize loads of tractors and combines.
Towards the end of the ride, we hit some construction. Fortunately, the shoulder was still intact.
County Road U's scenery was better than its name.
We crossed another state line today! I don't think I've biked across a state before Bike & Build. And now I've crossed South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
